I’m a mom of two little
hellions angels, Charlie and Crew, who have the ability to make me laugh out loud and scream in frustration in the same breath. I am a wife to a husband who has the same uncanny ability. It’s a house full of wieners, including the dog, and my vagina is the lone soldier fending for herself.
But before there was ‘us’, there was the me that grew up in sunny Southern California, in the time when Orange County started being dubbed ‘The OC’. I graduated from Mater Dei High School, went to Arizona State University, studied abroad in Italy (eating my way through Europe for a year), came back (with an extra ass and double chin), and fell drunk in love with my soul mate while stumbling hung over into my communications class. I graduated, then traveled to New Zealand and Australia, eventually settling back home just before ‘The OC’ became obsessed with The Housewives.
I started a job in marketing for my dad’s business, with one of my older brothers as my boss, telling me what to do, and my other older brother stopping by to fart in my office (it’s like reliving your childhood every day you go to work). I married my gorgeous, kind, funny, stubborn, pain-in-the-ass, love of my life. Because when you find the one person who challenges you to do everything you are afraid to do, supports your passions, and continues to find you sexy even after he gags from your fart…he’s a keeper. I followed one of my passions and became a yoga instructor, eventually teaching private classes and quickly establishing what would become the most fun, dedicated, and loving groups of yogis I am blessed to know, teach, and love!
We lived a football punt away from my parents, my three sibling, their spouses and the fastest growing gaggle of children outside polygamy. It’s the Irish/Italian Catholic (and token Jewish brother-in-law) way of life. My love and I were successful with the “pull and pray” method of birth control, until we weren’t. ‘We’ gave birth to two boys in two years and we were soon up to our eyeballs in poop, dirt, snot, tantrums, laundry, the word NO, and the best giggle fests ever (minus ‘the pot’). And in the summer of 2014 we sold our house in So Cal and headed to Park City, Utah. We traded the beach for the mountains, and while we do miss the sand, we certainly love the snow! And not having my amazing best friend (aka, my mom) right down the street was just as big of an adjustment for me (I LOVE YOU MOM).While we have chosen a more laid back way of life, the hustle and bustle really never goes away.
